Why am I doing this?

Hi Everyone!
Why am I taking the time to write this blog?
I had NO interest in Africa - really - except I loved some missionaries who serve there. Jen, my spiritual daughter, said that she was going to pray for me to travel to Africa. My thought were, "Well, that isn't going to happen."
However, as the year progressed, God started working in my heart. I began reading more about Africa and before I knew it, I wanted to go so badly. My husband had no interest in going and he said that I was not well enough to go. I asked him to pray about it with me, and then we would re-evaluate. Well, the desire kept growing, and finally we talked about it again. My husband said that he would go to keep an eye on me! That started our adventure of a lifetime in Tanzania, Africa.
When we arrived, I was surprised at how bleak the country was. I was surprised at how the roads were more pot holes than they were roads. I was also surprised to learn that the average income per person is about $800.
Our spiritual family in Africa teaches the Inductive Bible Study Seminars, as I have stated before. Troy goes out in the bush to areas that are dangerous, no bathrooms, rooms with spiders on the walls and so on. He lives with the people he is ministering to for the three days he is there.
We went with him on one Seminar where there was a faction who did not like Christians, and our food had been poisoned with rat poisoning. A "Mama" in the kitchen who didn't read found a piece of paper in the food and took it to the pastor. They had problems like this before, and thank God, the food was discarded and no one ate any of it.
We were run off the road one night. If we had been just a bit further along, we would have rolled the car as there were drop offs on either side.
However, the people in Africa are sweet and loving and so many have a desire to know God in a more intimate way.
More tomorrow with love,
cleinertson
