Hello All,
I have never even thought of writing a blog, but I have a heart for Africa (specifically Tanzania) and I am making jewelry so that I can use 40% of the proceeds to help some missionaries there who are like family to us. Maybe they are more like family than some of the family. :)
This family is reaching out to far reaches of the "bush" in Tanzania to teach "Inductive Bible Study" to pastors and church leaders in Tanzania. They travel to places where other missionaries will not go. These Seminars are three days in length, and the Teacher supplies the materials and the food for these days. Some of the people who attend walk for days to be able to hear this teaching. Sadly, even some pastors don't have Bibles or materials to study. Therefore, Pastor Troy also buys cases of Kiswahili Bibles so that he can give deserving church leaders these tools. He also carries a box with glasses having different strength lenses as some of the pastors and church leaders have poor eye site and therefore haven't been able to read God's Word. I know it is hard to imagine, but there are no books readily available there. There are no local libraries and I saw only one book store the month I was there, but it was too expensive for the average person.
Please stay tuned for more about this project and how God is leading me - tomorrow.
